MTSNYS Membership
- The purpose of MTSNYS is to foster the development of all aspects of the discipline of music theory, including music theory pedagogy and research, and to provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas pertaining to music theory and its teaching.

Membership in the Music Theory Society of New York State is open to all persons interested in any aspect of music theory.

- Subscription to MTSNYS's annual print journal, Theory and Practice
- Attendance at MTSNYS annual meetings
- Advance notice of program and any applicable reduced rates for the Annual Meeting
- Voting privileges in election of officers
