Band & Wind Ensemble Alumni Reunion
The first-ever reunion of former members of Ithaca College bands or wind ensemble will take place on Friday and Saturday, June 18-19, 2010. We hope you can come back to campus and do something you love, reconnect with folks you know, and perform with alumni from across the years.
Band/Wind Ensemble alumni and their families of any and all years are welcome and encouraged to participate. Music will be selected ahead of time and available when you arrive on campus. Highlights may include Bernstein’s Overture to Candide, arranged by Walter Beeler ’30; Bennett’s Suite of Old American Dances; and with selections by Grainger, Holst, and others. Depending on how many people show interest, we hope to make final program decisions ahead of time.
Former faculty members Edward Gobrecht, Jack Bullock, Frank Battisti, Rodney Winther, and Henry Neubert will join the ensembles’ current conductors to ensure the whole Ithaca Band scene is well represented. A few surprise guests might also be on hand.
Registration materials will be mailed to all Band and Wind Ensemble alumni in the next few weeks. Online registration will also be available soon. Although walk-ins are welcome, it is important that you register in advance to allow us to make appropriate repertoire plans.
