2014 High School Division Faculty
Summer Music Academy faculty consist of current Ithaca College faculty, top music educators from across the country, and renowned guest artists. Additional faculty and guest artists will be announced periodically.

Nikola Tomić maintains a busy schedule as a performer and teacher. He plays regularly in the Rochester and Ithaca areas, dividing his time between modern and traditional jazz, Latin dance music, commercial music, and chamber and orchestral music, and is a five-year veteran of the Eastman Jazz Ensemble. Nikola has taught since 2013 for the Opus Ithaca Music School. He taught from 2010 to 2013 for the Eastman Community Music School, providing private instruction in trumpet and music theory, and working with the New Horizons Band Program. Nikola was on faculty at the Ithaca College Summer Music Academy in 2013, and has presented clinics at Ithaca College and at Ithaca’s Community School of Music and Arts.
Past tour and festival highlights include concerts at the Festival Internacional Cervantino in Guanajuato, Mexico with the Eastman BroadBand, the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy performing the music of Gil Evans with Ryan Truesdell and the Eastman Chamber Jazz Orchestra, the Rochester International Jazz Festival, New York City’s Prez Fest, the Cornell University Jazz Festival, the Tri-C Jazz Festival, and the Crystal City Jazz Festival. Nikola has also performed with the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra, the Eastman Wind Ensemble, and OSSIA, Eastman’s student-run new music ensemble.
Nikola is a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Eastman School of Music. He holds the Master of Music degree from the Eastman School, and the Bachelor of Music degree from Ithaca College. His primary instructors have included Clay Jenkins, Frank G. Campos, Harold Danko, and Bill Dobbins.
