Jeffrey Abbott graduated in 2010 with a Masters Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he studied under Tyrone Greive. Jeffrey holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and Performance from Ithaca College, where he studied with Rebecca Ansel.
As an orchestral musician Jeffrey performs as a member of the Dubuque Symphony (IA), La Crosse Symphony (WI), and the Green Bay Symphony (WI). He also has performed in the orchestral program at the Aspen Music Festival (CO). As a chamber musician he studied at the Bowdoin International Chamber Festival (ME) and the Adriatic Chamber Festival in Italy.
As a music educator Jeffrey maintains a private violin studio and has served on the faculty of the NYASTA Summer String Institute in Ithaca, NY. He has volunteered with Music Makers in Madison, WI, which is a program that provides violin lessons to underprivileged elementary students. In addition to his teaching, Jeffrey has also worked as an adjudicator for the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra's yearly entrance auditions.
