Multiple woodwind instrumentalist Emily Pecoraro regularly performs with musical ensembles in the styles of Classical, Jazz, Rock, Funk, Afrobeat, and musical theater. Ms. Pecoraro holds a B.M. in Music Education from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY, with a heavy emphasis on jazz performance and pedagogy in addition to traditional studies in music education.
She has recorded and/or performed with Afrobeat, Rock, Funk, Jazz, and Classical groups including: The Big Mean Sound Machine (Ithaca, NY), The Mike Titlebaum Big Band (Rochester, NY), Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad (Rochester, NY), Ladyhips (Hartford, CT), Beat the Grid (Brooklyn, NY), The Buddhi (Ithaca, NY), The Ward Eights (Boston, MA), the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, and Contemporary Ensemble of Ithaca College (Ithaca, NY), and the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Saxophone Ensemble, Opera Orchestra, and Musical Theater Orchestra of The Boston Conservatory (Boston, MA). Her primary teachers include: Michael Norsworthy (Boston, MA), Eric Hewitt (Boston, MA), Sarah Brady (Boston, MA), Richard MacDowell (Ithaca, NY), Mike Titlebaum (Ithaca, NY), Michael Galvan (Ithaca, NY), Curt Blood (Hartford, CT), and Luigi Magistrelli (Milan, Italy), and is from the conducting studios of Dr. Stephen Peterson, Dr. Beth Peterson, and Dr. Mark Fonder all of Ithaca College.
Ms. Pecoraro is currently pursuing a Master's in Music degree in Multiple Woodwind Performance at The Boston Conservatory, with concentrations on saxophone, clarinet, and flute. Her professional plans include freelancing in and around the Tri-State Area while cultivating a thriving music program at a school as a band educator, and to own an enormously impressive collection of shoes and cats.
