If your desire is to focus on the building blocks of music -- the tools and the structure -- our degree in music theory is for you. With our conservatory tradition, you'll receive in-depth instruction from our nationally recognized music theory faculty in analysis, musicianship, aural perception, and composition. Since you enter the program in your sophomore year, most music theory majors are first admitted to the school as undeclared music majors.
