Greetings from the final student intern!
My name is Briana Duquette and I am so excited to be an Executive Committee Intern for the NCUR 2011 at Ithaca College! I am a junior Communication Management and Design major with a dual concentration in Instructional Technology and Corporate Communications and a Business minor. My responsibilities on the Executive Planning Committee include managing our social media sites (check me out at the links below!), creating and developing the Saturday afternoon excursion activities, coordinating Ithaca College student organizational involvement, and helping to coordinate fabulous apparel and giveaways for the conference.
Enough about me, I’m thrilled to finally share that our first excursion activity has been finalized and it is (drum roll please)...
AN AFTERNOON TRIP TO THE RENOWNED CORNING MUSEUM OF GLASS!
Corning, NY is known for their glassmaking past, present, and innovative future. The Corning Museum of Glass holds the world's best collection of art and historical glass and features hands-on exhibit experiences that tell the story of the science and technology behind glass creations. In addition to the guided and interactive tour though the museum, participants have the chance to participate in a glassmaking activity where they will be sandblasting their choice from an assortment of glasses! For more information, check out the CMoG website.
So keep submitting your abstracts for the opportunity to be a part of this great conference! Stay turned for more sneak peaks at our other two excursion activities!
Briana
