With a new revolution in Egypt comes the hope that women’s rights will finally make some headway in that patriarchal society, reports the Associated Press. Yet the assault on CBS News correspondent Lara Logan, who was covering the uprising, shows that the threat of violence against women remains. Barlas said that progress on women’s rights will be slow. “When societal images of women begin to change maybe things will get better.”
