Steven Seidman, retired professor of strategic communication
Seidman’s research was cited in an article on the Big Think website about how presidential candidates get the youth vote. As Seidman wrote about the Obama campaign for the Journal of Visual Literacy, “[The campaign] designed it as a social network—a user-friendly, online community linking people who had similar beliefs and interests …Almost 60 percent of under-30 registered voters visited candidate Web sites, social-networking sites, or blogs in 2008, and this age group was much more likely to turn out for Obama.”
