Jerry Mirskin, associate professor of writing
The importance of humor in poetry was the topic of Mirskin’s recent interview with the Post Standard. “I feel like my poetry has the essential goofiness,” said Mirskin, who read from his works as part of the Cazenovia Counterpoint arts festival. “I like to fool around because I don’t want to take myself too seriously. Especially when I become reflective, I begin to see myself in a little bit of a funnier light.”
