Janice Levy, professor of cinema, photography, and media arts
The Chronicle of Higher Education interviewed Levy after she spent a year teaching photography at a women’s university in Saudi Arabia. The culture of that region made the task harrowing at best, but Levy found the experience rewarding overall. “I believe that photography is a just a vehicle to get people thinking about their world,” she says. In Saudi Arabia, “there's so much to photograph and so much to think about.”
