Stephen Mosher, professor of sport management and media
Do major league baseball teams owe it to their fans and opponents to keep giving their all even when they don’t have a post-season to look forward to? The Wall Street Journal asked Mosher that question. “When you start to unpack the situation, it gets very, very difficult,” he said. “What do we do that's in the best interests of our club both short-term and long-term, and do we have any obligation at all to the fans to put out the best product since they're the ones who spent the money? It's really complicated.”
