Gary Sforzo’s recommendations about exercising in heat and humidity were posted by the UPI wire service. He advises people to check the heat index before they plan their workout or take part in a competition in order to avoid heat exhaustion or stroke. “Don’t become obsessed about it, but if in doubt, if climatic conditions are changing, or if you are competing and you know you are going to ratchet it up, you want to be on the safe side and that might just mean taking in a little more fluid if it gets extreme,” he says.
