Evan Nison, Ithaca College student
Nison, a representative of Students for Sensible Drug Policy, spoke to YNN about the passage of New York’s Good Samaritan Law. The law is designed to encourage witnesses of drug and alcohol overdoses to seek help without fear of prosecution. “We were in a unique position to be able to prove to legislators that this bill would in fact save lives and it would work, because we were some of the few people in the state with the experience already,” said Nison.
