According to the Indianapolis Star, more Indiana fathers are pitching in with child care and household chores because they have become unemployed. But for some couples traditional gender roles may keep the women doing the majority of housework and childcare even if she is employed and the husband isn’t. "Once a couple establishes a division of labor, that tends to stay pretty stable," said Stephen Sweet.
