United Press International recently published Beachler’s comments on the healthcare debate and the likelihood of a bipartisan reform bill. According to Beachler, the country may be too divided to meet in the middle. "The Republican Party is now rooted in the deeply conservative states of the south. Democrats have their base on both coasts. This regional division of the parties reinforces a growing ideological divide over the role of government in providing social programs to Americans," said Beachler.
