Dana Professor in the Social Sciences at Ithaca College. The appointment was made in recognition of his excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship, and for the significant contributions he has made to the college. Dana Foundation. 05/07/2008 Ithaca College's Habitat For Humanity Chapter Awarded National Youth Programs Grant From State Farm ITHACA, NY— The Ithaca College Campus Chapter of Habitat for Humanity was recently awarded a $10,000 matching grant from State Farm, the national sponsor of Habitat’s Youth Programs. In order to receive the funds, the chapter raised $10,000, which was donated to the building projects of their sponsoring affiliate, the Southeastern Steuben County Habitat for Humanity. 05/06/2008 Commencement Ceremony To Feature Minnesota Supreme Court Justice And NFL Hall Of Famer Alan Page ITHACA, NY— Former “Purple People Eater” and current Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Alan Page will deliver the main address at Ithaca College’s 113th Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 18. Page — a member of the fearsome defensive unit that helped lead the Minnesota Vikings to four Super Bowls in the 1970s — will speak to some 1,300 graduates and their guests at the 10:00 a.m. ceremony at Butterfield Stadium. A member of the college and professional football halls of fame, he established the Page Education Foundation to motivate and assist young men and women of color in pursuing their educational goals. 05/05/2008 Commencement Eve Concert Will Feature A Musical Farewell To The Class Of 2008 And To Departing Leaders ITHACA, NY— A highlight of the Ithaca College Commencement weekend will be the 41st annual Commencement Eve Concert. This year’s program, “Farewell,” will take place on Saturday, May 17, at 8:30 p.m., in Ben Light Gymnasium. Free and open to the public, the concert will be directed for the 23rd consecutive year by Dana Wilson, the Charles A. Dana Professor of Music Theory, History, and Composition in the School of Music. 05/02/2008 Autopsy Determines Ithaca College Student Accidentally Drowned ITHACA, NY— According to the Ithaca Police Department, preliminary autopsy results indicate that Ithaca College freshman William Jacobson’s death was due to an accidental drowning. While the full autopsy report is not yet complete, police have ruled out foul play as the cause of death.

Ithaca College Chapter of the American Marketing Association Garners International Awards ITHACA, NY— The Ithaca College chapter of the American Marketing Association (ICAMA) received two chapter awards and one individual honor at the AMA’s International Collegiate Conference held last month in New Orleans. In addition to an Outstanding Collegiate Chapter Award, which recognized ICAMA as one of the top 16 collegiate chapters worldwide, ICAMA received honorable mention honors in the Dr. O. Karl Mann website competition. The organization’s website, www.ithaca.edu/ama, was recognized as one of the top 20 among competing chapters. Finally, Scott Erickson, ICAMA advisor and associate professor and chair of marketing and law, was honored with the Hugh G. Wales Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award.
