After Dinner Mint Faculty Showcase Recital Series at Ithaca College to Present "Americana"
ITHACA, NY — After Dinner Mint – an Ithaca College faculty showcase recital series – will continue its 2013-14 season with "Americana," an American themed evening of music, on Monday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. in Hockett Family Recital Hall at the James J. Whalen Center for Music. The concert is free and open to the public.
Featured in this concert will be faculty members of the voice, piano, violin, percussion, trumpet, clarinet and saxophone performing selections from the Great American Songbook. The "Americana" program features works by Bernstein, Copland, Gershwin, Hundley, Wilson and Wilder.
Like an after dinner mint, each recital is short, sweet and an indulgence that leaves the audience wanting more. Each concert lasts no more than an hour and features world-class faculty collaborating in chamber music performances of unusual and traditional instrumentation alike.
