‘Be Our Guest’ for Concert of Favorite Disney Movie Songs at Ithaca College

ITHACA, NY — Ithaca College will host “Disney in Concert: Tale as Old as Time,” a family-friendly production featuring music from classic Disney movies, on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 8 p.m. in Ford Hall.

Created by the Walt Disney Music Company, the concert will bring together the talents of Ithaca College School of Music students and community members to produce an unforgettable experience. Led by artistic director Joshua Condon ’14, the concert will feature 19 soloists, 2 choirs and a 72-piece symphony orchestra. Joining the students for this special performance will be the VOICES Multicultural Chorus. Along with Condon, “Disney in Concert” will be jointly conducted by Michael Samson ’14, Ben Van De Water ’14 and Lorrene Adams, a music teacher at Lansing High School.

“Disney music has an incomparable appeal to people of all ages,” said Condon. “The songs feature storylines and messages that we can all resonate with. I’m thrilled to be working with so many brilliantly talented musicians and performing this music as heard in the original movies.”

 

The multisensory production will include video clips and images from throughout the vast history of the Disney franchise. Walt Disney president and CEO Bob Iger will make an appearance in a special video message recorded for the event. A 1973 graduate of Ithaca College, Iger was named in 2005 as the sixth CEO in the company’s history. He has served on the Ithaca College Board of trustees and is currently an honorary member.

“We’ll be performing songs from the most famous Disney animated movies,” says Samson. “You’ll hear music from The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, The Lion King, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Pirates of the Caribbean, Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beastand many, many more.”

Please tell me that i will be able to see your show. I have been trying to get tickets but finally got your email site and they say "sold out". Please help. would love to see this show. I am 80 and my husband is 85 and we love Disney.
