ITHACA, NY — Ithaca College’s Department of Theatre Arts will present its first spring semester senior directing project, “Fool For Love,” written by Sam Shepard and directed by theatre studies major Beth Henderson ’12. Performance dates will be Sunday, Feb. 19, at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Monday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. All performances will be presented in the Earl McCarroll Studio Theatre (Studio 2) in the Dillingham Center.

Tickets are free but must be reserved in advance by e-mailing ictams1@gmail.com. Patrons are asked to include their names, first and second performance choices including the date and time, their e-mail, phone number, and billing address. Only one ticket per patron is allowed. Tickets are accepted on a first-reply, first-reserve basis.

There will be a wait list for tickets at the door 30 minutes before each performance for all sold-out shows. All tickets that have not been picked up 15 minutes before the performance will be released to patrons on the wait list, so arriving early is advised.

“Fool for Love” takes place inside a motel room surrounded by the Mojave Desert, where Shepard’s two “fools” collide after mutual abuse drove them apart. Eddie, a rough around the edges rodeo performer, once again attempts to win back May, his childhood sweetheart, with tender words and tantalizing promises. May, a struggling yet strong-willed woman, battles against Eddie’s fantasies with her firm grasp on reality and unconvincing contentment with her new beau, Martin. All the while, the mysterious Old Man watches on as these characters continue their never ending game of love and destruction.

The cast includes Emily Austin '13, Coleman Hemsath '15, Jordan Schultz '14, Eric Hagreen '12, Emily Viancourt '14 and Evan Arbour '15.

Dillingham Center accommodates all patrons. Individuals with special needs are asked to contact (607) 274-3224 to request accommodations as soon as possible.
