Ithaca College's Handwerker Gallery Offers Contemporary Explorations of Representational Art
ITHACA, NY — “The Figure,” a traveling exhibition organized by the Midwest Paint Group and guests, will open at Ithaca College’s Handwerker Gallery on Wednesday, Sept. 7. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the gallery. Exhibiting artist Glen Cebulash will deliver a talk entitled “Thoughts on Painting” in the gallery on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m. Curated by Bob Brock, the exhibition will remain on display through October 16. All Handwerker Gallery events are free and open to the public.
“The Figure” explores contemporary expressions of what is considered to be a traditional, representational art form. A catalog with an essay by “Wall Street Journal” critic Lance Esplund accompanies the exhibition and can be purchased at the gallery.

The gallery is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m.–9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, noon–5 p.m.
