Ithaca College's Handwerker Gallery will Feature Work by Student Visual Artists from Across the United States
ITHACA, NY — “NCUR Visual Artists,” an exhibition of student artwork for the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR), will open at the Handwerker Gallery on March 21 and run to April 2. A public reception will be held in the Gallery on Thursday, March 31, from 5 to 7 p.m.
In addition, the artists will speak about their work in a series of 20-minute public talks on Thursday, March 31, from 1:15 to 2:35 p.m. and 2:45 to 4:05 p.m.; and on Friday, April 1, from 12:45 to 2:05 p.m. and 3:40 to 5 p.m.
This group show includes paintings, prints, photographs, sculptures and an installation by 27 contemporary student artists selected for NCUR from across the nation.
Established in 1987, NCUR is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity in all fields of study by sponsoring an annual conference for students. Through this annual conference, NCUR creates a unique environment for the celebration and promotion of undergraduate student achievement and helps to improve the state of undergraduate education. All Handwerker Gallery events are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and weekends, noon to 5 p.m. The gallery is closed to the public on Tuesdays but can accommodate group or class visits by appointment.
