HealthQuest Camp at Ithaca College Introduces High Schoolers to Health Careers
ITHACA, NY—More than two dozen high school students interested in the fields of health care, sport and leisure are getting the opportunity to explore career possibilities along with a taste of college life at HealthQuest, a program being held July 8–12 at Ithaca College.
HealthQuest is a residential camp that offers a week of hands-on activities and classes introducing high schoolers to the relationship between science, the health professions and health career opportunities.
Through interactive learning experiences with practicing professionals and college instructors, the students will be exposed to career possibilities in such allied health fields as exercise science, athletic training, physical and occupational therapy, therapeutic recreation, social work and speech-language pathology.
HealthQuest is sponsored by the Ithaca College School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, the Central New York Area Health Education Center (CNYAHEC) and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield. CNYAHEC is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote improvements in the supply, training and development of health-care professionals in a 14-county area that includes Tompkins County.
