Insight Given by Sport Industry Experts at Ithaca College’s ‘Careers in Sport Symposium’
ITHACA, NY — Alumni panelists and other experts representing the sport industry — from the digital marketing coordinator for the NBA to a producer for the Major League Soccer online channel Kick TV — will gather at Ithaca College on Saturday, Oct.12, to share insights and offer advice to students and other attendees considering a career in sports.
Free and open to the public, the event will start at 8:30 a.m. with a meet-and-greet breakfast outside Textor 102. At approximately 9 a.m., alumni and non-alumni contributors will be recognized with awards. Then, throughout the morning, panelists employed by the WNBA, Yale University Athletics, Riddell Sports and numerous other sport enterprises will meet in rooms in Friends Hall, offering three rounds of four panels. The topics will be Trends in Sport Management & Marketing, Sales & Sport, Emerging Technology in Sport Media and Internship Advice/Graduate School Consideration.
“Our annual Careers in Sport Symposium is a fantastic integrative experience open to students from all schools and majors,” said Kyle Woody, instructor in the Department of Sport Management and Media. “The symposium allows students to learn about new and emerging trends in the sport industry from a panel of experts, and it provides our alumni an opportunity to network with students for future internships and jobs.”
The Symposium is sponsored by the Department of Sport Management and Media as part of Alumni Weekend.
