Ithaca College Calendar of Events January 1622

MONDAY, JAN. 20
MUSIC
School of Music MLK Day  Celebration Concert, featuring soprano Marlissa Hudson performing selections from “Porgy and Bess,” as well as performances by the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, faculty and students, and the Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers; 7:30 p.m., Ford Hall, Whalen Center.

PANEL DISCUSSION
MLK Day panel discussion on “Campus Unrest & Student Activism @ IC”; 9 a.m., Emerson Suites, Phillips Hall.

PRESENTATIONS
MLK Day keynote address by Librada Paz, leader in the farmworker rights movement and winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award, followed by a presentation by the college’s MLK Scholars; 4 p.m., Emerson Suites, Phillips Hall.

TUESDAY, JAN. 21
MUSIC
Guest master class by violinist Fritz Gearhart; 7 p.m., Presser Rehearsal Hall, Whalen Center.

WEDNESDAY, JAN 22
MUSIC
Faculty/guest recital by violinists Fritz Gearhart and Susan Waterbury; 7 p.m., Hockett Family Recital Hall, Whalen Center.

CONTINUING EXHIBITS
“Aerial Reconnaissance,” an exhibit of large-scale mixed media drawings by Carla Stetson exploring topics such as wind and water currents, glacial melting and planetary movement; and “Your Margins, Your Rivers, Your Diminutive Villages,” an exhibit of works by Patte Loper featuring site-specific drawings and sculptures guided by surrealist automatism; running through Mar. 7, Handwerker Gallery, Gannett Center. The gallery is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m.–9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, noon–5 p.m.
