Ithaca College Professor Receives National Athletic Training Service Award
ITHACA, NY — The National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) has selected Chris Hummel, clinical associate professor and certified athletic trainer at Ithaca College, as a recipient of the NATA 2014 Athletic Trainer Service Award. Hummel is one of 53 recipients of the award.
Selected for his contributions to the athletic training profession, Hummel has served as secretary and treasurer of the New York State Athletic Trainers’ Association, volunteered as a manuscript and presentation reviewer for various journals and worked to promote concussion education at the local and state levels.
The Athletic Trainer Service Award recognizes NATA members for their contributions to the athletic training profession in professional associations, community organizations, grassroots public relations efforts and service as a volunteer athletic trainer. Candidates must have held the certified athletic trainer (ATC) credential, conferred by the Board of Certification, and have been an NATA member, both for at least 15 years.
