Ithaca College to Host Talk on Antiracist Strategies
ITHACA, NY — “Crisis, Opportunity and Antiracism” will be the topic of a talk at Ithaca College on Thursday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in Emerson Suites, Phillips Hall. The presentation by Phuong Nguyen is part of the Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity (CSCRE) Discussion Series, and it is free and open to the public.
Nguyen is an assistant professor in the CSCRE and serves as coordinator of the minor in Asian American Studies. In his talk, he will present historical examples of how different ethnic and racial groups were able to climb the social ladder at the expense of another group, then discuss how communities today can rethink social justice and antiracism.
