Cross-Cultural Documentary Research & Production (course is offered by Ithaca College’s exchange partner, Hanyang University, in Seoul)

Late June-Late July; approx. 4 weeks (exact dates TBA)

Students can earn up to 9 credits of transfer credit on this program. All courses are offered by the Hanyang University International Summer School, and are NOT Ithaca College courses.

There are more than 40 different classes taught at the Hanyang University International Summer School, of which Cross Cultural Documentary Research & Production is one. Students may also choose up to two additional courses based upon their interests. Cross-Cultural Documentary Research & Production is open to students of all disciplines, and Ithaca College students will work collaboratively with Hanyang University students in this course based on international teamwork. In this intensive research and production experience, students learn the rudiments of creating a documentary. Aspects of preproduction (idea conception, research), production (camera work, interview), and postproduction (sound and picture editing) are introduced as students create a documentary film. Class sessions will feature lectures, film screenings and discussions. Labs and workshops will concentrate on hands on technical instruction and critiques of student work.
