Ithaca College has entered into an agreement with Cornell University which reserves five spaces each semester in the Cornell in Washington (CIW) Program for qualified Ithaca College students. Ithaca students pay Ithaca tuition and Cornell housing for a full fall or spring semester in Washington, DC.

The Cornell in Washington Program offers students an 8-credit research course, a 4-credit classroom course, and a three-day internship experience (students may take an additional 4-credit course if their schedule permits). Students who need credit for the internship experience must register for internship credit through Ithaca College and must complete all appropriate IC internship applications as required by their major since Cornell does not confer credit for internships.

Students are encouraged to visit the Cornell in Washington website and meet with their academic advisor to ensure that the Cornell program will accommodate their academic needs.

Cornell will hold an information session on campus on Tuesday, February 28th at 4:30 p.m. in CHS 413. Interested students are encouraged to attend with questions in hand. Completed applications and Judicial Reviews should be submitted to Assistant Provost Tanya R. Saunders in CHS 214-1 by no later than March 1st, 2012. An official transcript will be required by Cornell University for those students whose applications are forwarded to Cornell. All applicants should have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, junior or senior status, and be in good judicial standing.
