As the 2010 Winter Olympic Games get underway in Vancouver, Ithaca College students will once again get to be in the center of the world. For the third consecutive Olympic games, a group of 31 students from the Park School of Communications will intern with NBC Sports.

"The Park School is proud that NBC television has selected our interns to work alongside their professionals at the Olympics; our legacy of well-prepared, energetic, and talented students that has propelled a number of our alums to executive positions within NBC Universal continues on through our young talent in Vancouver today," said Diane Gayeski, interim dean of the Park School of Communications.

These nonpaid internships focus on the "behind-the-scenes" work of NBC Sports executives and the decisions they make that impact all aspects of what gets televised. Students will live in the international media village for six to eight weeks, and potentially could work in one of the following areas:

  • accommodations
  • audio
  • executive offices
  • information technology
  • press
  • research
  • production support
  • sports venues
  • runner pool
