Entry form in "Documents" section
CONTESTANT REQUIREMENTS:
1) A student (undergraduate or graduate) of Ithaca College
2) Composer are welcome to submit multiple entries
COMPOSITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1) Mixed choir (SATB) or treble choir (SA, SAA, SSAA). Occasional divisi within
voice parts is acceptable.
2) Accompanied or unaccompanied (piano only, with addition of single obbligato
instrument if desired)
3) Not exceeding 5 minutes in length
4) Text is unlimited; language is unlimited
5) Composers must receive the rights to all text that is not considered public
domain. These rights must be presented in writing.
6) Entries must be unpublished
PRIZES:
1) Top 2-3 entries will be selected as finalists. These pieces will be performed in
the spring of 2012. Finalists will receive a recording of this performance.
2) First prize winner will be revealed at the conclusion of the finalist
performance
ENTRY PROCEDURE:
1) Deadline: February 6, 2012
2) No fee to enter
3) Submissions must include:
- Full score of composition; 5 copies
- No personal information
- Indicate piece duration on cover sheet.
- For a-cappella piece please include piano reduction
- Include the text of the piece, apart from the music, in the score or on a cover sheet.
- Registration form (see attachment)
- enclosed in sealed and unmarked envelope
- Midi File or anonymous Recording (recommended; not required)
5) Submit all materials by deadline to: James J. Whalen Music Office
