Do I need previous riding experience to join the team

No,you don't have to have previous experience to join the team. Intercollegiate showing is set up in a manner that allows any level of rider to compete, from beginner to advanced. If you have never ridden before, you will probably show in the walk-trot division.

How much does it cost to join the team

All team members are required to take one riding lesson per week at $35.00 a lesson. $350.00 is collected as part of the fall semester dues; $280.00 is collected as part of the spring semester dues. This covers 10 and 8 required lessons respectively. Any additional lessons are paid directly to If Only Farm.

Ithaca College subsidizes the majority of our team costs, including entry fees, horse show training fees, individual and team IHSA registration fees and hotel expenses. Any rollover amount that is not covered by our school sanctioned budget will be divided equally among team members.

Riders must also provide their own riding attire, meals, and gas money for each show

What is the dress code for shows

IHSA requires all riders to have the following in order to compete in their shows.

* IHSA approved helmets are mandatory at all shows and individual lessons
