Vice President of Campus Affairs: Rachel Heiss (aka "MA")
My passions for school tradition and student advocacy were the driving points for why I decided to join Student Government my freshman year. I was a senator for the class of 2013 both my freshman and sophomore year, so SGA has never been a stranger to me.
In my position, the overarching goal I have for this semester is to prove the power of SGA and all that the organization is capable of accomplishing. If you have any campus-wide concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me! I have an amazing committee of senators and students-at-large who are more than willing to do what we can to improve the overall quality of life on campus. The Campus Affairs Committee has been focusing on 4 different subcommittees this year: health & wellness, spirit, events, and beautification. We also work very closely with the Food Service Advisory Committee to address dining concerns on campus. Other projects being worked on include off-campus promotion of the Medical Amnesty Policy that was passed state-wide, and the Equalization Proposal introduced by Students for a Sensible Drug Policy and endorsed by the SGA. In addition to these efforts, I will be continuing to investigate the progress of a sidewalk to be built along 96B and transportation struggles facing students.
And because I just saw there is a YouTube button, I will now present my favorite song in the world:
Fun fact: They're from Ithaca/Finger Lakes region. Can't get much better.
