Welcome to the home of the Ithaca College Student Government Association. SGA is dedicated to serving your needs as a student at IC, and this site was carefully designed to be a useful resource for you on a regular basis. It is our committment to you...
On February 20th, 2007, SGA's Senate voted to approve an amendment to it's Constitution. The Amendment officially created a "Unity Council" that will bring together delegates from all campus organization to discuss issues related to "diversity, inclusivity, and the social quality of life" on the Ithaca College campus.
On February 20th, 2007, President Williams signaled Ithaca College's committment to environmental responsibility becoming a signatory to the American College and University Presidents Climate Plan. The same day, SGA's Senate voted in favor of sponsoring a proposal to achieve carbon neutrality at Ithaca College.
On October 17, 2006 SGA's Senate passed a resolution in response to reports of bias-related incidents on campus. In the resolution, SHA resolved to take a leadership role in fostering a community founded on unity and inclusivity, and challenged Ithaca College to redouble it's diversity efforts.
The SGA is committed more than ever this year to building stronger relationships between the students at Ithaca College and our neighbors here in the community. We know that the lifestyles of students can greatly vary and do not always coincide with the needs of the more permanent residents whose lives may be impacted. We do not condone all these behaviors, and we hold great respect for this townÂ’s desire to establish policies that protect the rights of all residents to lead comfortable and happy lives. That being said, we also understand the needs of our fellow students to be students and enjoy their lives responsibly in this community.
