Placement Exams

Placement Exams

Ithaca College has designed three placement exam processes in the academic fields of math, language, and music to assist with appropriate course selection during the orientation class registration process.

Transfer students should also review the placement exam information and verify that all transcripts have been sent to the Office of Admissions and AP scores have been sent to the Office of the Registrar.

Updates and Helpful Information:

  • Starting in mid-April, you will receive HomerConnect and Netpass (IC email) information from the Office of the Registrar.  Activate the accounts to take placement exams before arriving for orientation.
  • Those wishing to obtain a music minor or discover involvement opportunities in the music school for non-music majors can find detailed information on the Music Placement website.
  • Students needing accommodations with placement exams should contact the Office of Student Disability Services.
