Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Office of State Grants is to work collaboratively both within the Ithaca College community and the community at large, in order to provide a comprehensive menu of support services to participants in the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Program (HEOP) and the Careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (C-STEM) Program, throughout their college career.  This mission is a reflection of each educational opportunity program's purpose and intent for providing an eligible student with access to a higher education degree, support services, and an opportunity to develop an enriching and solid academic underpinning, in order to thrive in his/her chosen major, career or field.  Our mission is a commitment to academic excellence which enhances and promotes the mission statement of Ithaca College.

HEOP

Through the Office of State Grants at Ithaca College, the mission of HEOP is to provide a comprehensive menu of support services to pre-freshmen, HEOP or EOP transfer students, and continuing IC students who, because of both academic and economic circumstances, would otherwise be unable to attend Ithaca College.  Support services continue until graduation.

HEOP Summer Institute

Through the Office of State Grants, the mission of Summer Institute is to provide a comprehensive menu of support services to prefreshmen who, because of both academic and economic circumstances would otherwise be likely unable to attend Ithaca College.  Support services continue up until graduation.

C-STEM

Through the Office of State Grants at Ithaca College, the mission of C-STEM is to increase the number of historically underrepresented IC students who are pursuing health-related careers and expertise in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, by providing a comprehensive menu of support services, up to and beyond graduation.
