I am a Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York. I was born in Nazilli, Turkey, in 1957. I received my undergraduate degree in mathematics from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Sciences, University of Istanbul in 1979. I had my PhD from the Department of Mathematics, University of California at Santa Barbara in 1988. After working as a visiting assistant professor at the Department of Mathematics, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, I joined Ithaca College in 1989. I worked as an Assistant Professor from 1989 to 1995 and as an Associate Professor from 1995 to 2004. I have been working as a Full Professor since 2004. I spent Spring Semester of 1995 at Emory University in Atlanta. I was a visiting professor at the Department of Mathematics, Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey for the academic year of 2004-05. I do mathematics research in Classical Analysis and very much interested in working with students in various undergraduate research topics of mutual interest. I enjoy teaching various interesting undergraduate mathematics courses and communicating with students. |
