Ithaca Athletes Score On Field and Off
The Bombers have had a year to be proud of: Ithaca's athletic teams have received recognition across the board.
IC won the Empire 8 Commissioner’s Cup ... again. IC has won the Cup all seven years it has been awarded. The Commissioner’s Cup is awarded annually to the best overall athletics program in the Empire 8 conference.
Our football team has appeared a record seven times in the Division III national championship game.

IC also finished 14th place in the NACDA Director’s Cup while competing among over 400 Division III institutions. The NACDA Directors' Cup is an award given annually by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics to the colleges and universities with the most success in athletics.
Additionally, 12 of 25 Ithaca College teams participated in the NCAA Championship competition, and 21 student athletes were named to their respective All-American team.
Plus, nine of our coaches received Coach of the Year honors in their respective sports.
Besides their outstanding play on the field and the track, our athletes once again proved their excellence in the classroom. This spring a total of 129 student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.75 or better and were placed on the Empire 8 President’s List to honor them for their academic excellence.
Our women’s gymnastics team placed 1st in Division III academic honors.

With a GPA of 3.593, our women’s gymnastics team ranked 1st in Division III and 5th among all NCAA division teams. Most notably, the Bombers beat out division heavyweights like #10 MIT, #15 Stanford, and #16 Yale. There were 64 institutions ranked. Overall, 18 IC teams earned Empire 8 Team Academic Honors with a team GPA of 3.2 or better, including all of our women’s teams.
