Bomber Gymnasts Start Strong, End Strong
The Ithaca College gymnastics team flexed and flipped their way to an impressive finish to an already amazing season.
The team scored a total of 183.600 points at the 2009 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association competition, taking 5th place in the competition. Freshman Jessica Bolduc '12 placed 4th in the individual, all-around match. Bolduc is the first Bomber to earn All-American in the all-around competition since 2000 and Ithaca's first three-time All-American in one meet since 2004.
The team has made twenty-two trips to the NCGA Championships, and last year three of the gymnasts were named All-American.
Senior Francis Ente was named All-American on the uneven bars; she's the first gymnast in Ithaca history to earn All-American at the same event four years in a row. Samantha Brawn '09 was also named All-American. Brawn, Ente, and Roxanne Deshaies were also named to the NCGA Senior Academic All-American Team.
The Bombers qualified for the NCGA meet by finishing second at the ECAC Championships with a team score of 187.950, the second-highest team score in school history. The team won the NCGA title in 1998.
