Important Information about Upcoming Breaks
Please make a note that fall break is October 17-20; classes will not be in session. Students may remain in their residence halls if they wish, and the halls will remain fully staffed.
The Thanksgiving holiday begins Saturday, November 23, at noon. Residence halls will close, although if your student wishes to remain on campus over this break, he/she may submit a Thanksgiving occupancy form to the Office of Residence Life by November 20. Residence halls will reopen on Sunday, December 1, at noon, and classes resume the following morning.
When making travel plans throughout the academic year, we ask you to please remember that most residence halls are closed during Thanksgiving break, winter break, and spring break -- with the exception of the College Circle Apartments, Garden Apartments, Terrace 3, and Boothroyd Hall. Terrace 3 and Boothroyd Hall are closed for one week during winter break. Residents must vacate their rooms for each of these breaks, and under no circumstances may they stay late or move back in before the official opening date and time.
Please be aware that the residence halls close promptly at noon on the Saturday of each break closing. Students who cannot leave campus by noon may wait in the Campus Center until 3 p.m. Students found in the residence halls after the advertised closing time and/or before the advertised opening time, without prior approval, are subject to immediate removal from the building, judicial action, and a $100 fine.
