How many Park Scholar Awards are awarded each year?

Each year, approximately 15 scholarships are awarded.

Who is eligible for a Park Scholar Award?

To be considered for this award, you must be a U.S. citizen and apply to Ithaca College and the Park School.

Are there minimum academic scores, averages or ranks that students must have in order to apply?

No, there are no minimum academic requirements. We will review all applications and encourage anyone interested to apply. However, the award is very competitive, and on average, recipients of the Park Scholar Award have an SAT average of 1350.

What is “Finalist Weekend?”

If a student is selected as a finalist for the award, s/he is expected to participate in the Finalist Weekend.  Please check our website for the dates for this year’s Finalist Weekend.  The Finalist Weekend consists of individual and group interviews, as well as information sessions and activities.  Finalists room with current Park Scholars on-campus, but there is no programming for families.

When are Park Scholars selected? 

All applicants (including those not selected) are notified of their finalist status in writing by March 1. Award recipients are notified in writing by April 15.
