A Mural Experience

Park Scholars are committed to serving both the local and the global communities, and they do so through a variety of individual and group service projects.  Park Scholars have volunteered with the American Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Project CARE, and Habitat for Humanity.  In addition, Park Scholars have produced programming for local senior citizens and tutored at numerous elementary schools in the area.

Moreover, Park Scholars have volunteered in Cambodia, the Dominican Republic, East Africa, and Thailand.

In their group service projects, the Park Scholars have also shared their talents through: tutoring students in the Student Historian Initiative at the History Center of Tompkins County; designing and teaching media literacy classes at local schools; working with the Ithaca City School District on its external communications needs; and producing media for local organizations through Megaphone Media Productions.
