Journalism from Staten Island, NY

I’m a senior Journalism and Politics double major from Staten Island, NY. I am the daughter of Albanian immigrants from Montenegro, which is where I think my love of culture, language, human rights, and politics all comes from. I spent spring and summer 2011 studying in the beautiful Córdoba, Argentina and spring 2012 in London, where I interned for a book publisher and volunteered for Doctors Without Borders. In Ithaca, I’m interning for the Immigrant Services Program of Catholic Charities, where I get to develop my personal and professional interests in immigrants’ rights. I also maintain my bond to the Latin community by volunteering for the Latino Civic Association of Tompkins County. On campus, I work with Park Scholar Media Club and IC Habitat for Humanity. I’m also a writer for Buzzsaw magazine and a member of the Model UN team. I love writing, journalism, international relations, human rights, constitutional and comparative international law, languages, social justice, and never ever losing my accent. Go Yankees.
