After spending the summer and winter break in San Francisco interning with Global Exchange, I reconfirmed my lifelong passion for human rights and social change. This semester, I’m excited to be volunteering with Prisoner Express, a rehabilitation program that offers inmates the opportunity for creative self-expression through poetry and correspondence with students. I also hope to apply and further build on my experiences while studying abroad in Morocco to my co-curricular involvements like Ithaca College Human Rights Club. As Advocacy Chair for Colleges Against Cancer, I’ve helped plan Relay for Life and Concert For A Cure, two events that will raise funds for cancer research and services. My other commitments include being one of the Junior Co-Chairs for Senior Week and a consultant for 180 Degrees, which works with local non-profits to improve their strategic communications. On campus, I write for The Ithacan, Buzzsaw Magazine and 360 Magazine, and I’m a member of the Communications Management and Design Student Association. In my free time, I’m also training to run a half-marathon and blogging about it.
