Class of 2014
|Communication Management and Design from Old Lyme, CT|
After spending two summers in San Francisco, I found a place where my passions for human rights, media, and communications, progressive dialogue and community all come together. During my last year at Ithaca College, I’m excited to apply what I have learned from my summer experiences as a human rights intern with Global Exchange, an event and training management intern for CoFED, and a social sector consulting fellow with New Sector Alliance. This semester, I’m the Editor in Chief of The Ithacan, and one of my primary goals is to build leadership among the staff. I believe that good internal communications and support yields quality external communications, which for us is the weekly campus and community news. My editing and project management experience will help me coordinate the content for the Park Scholar newsfeed this year. I’m also volunteering with GreenStar Cooperative Market, the alternative grocery store where I am currently a member. I hope to build on my experiences with cooperative models by applying my values around food justice through direct participation. As a former project manager of the Concert For A Cure, I will draw from my consulting experience to advise the new leaders of the project this year, specifically in the areas of talent management, event logistics, and media relations.
