As a junior Park Scholar, I'm involved in many service projects around Ithaca. This year, I am doing a great amount of work with Ithaca youth by volunteering weekly in a fifth grade classroom at South Hill Elementary School, as well as participating in Media Club, a Park Scholar project that teaches children about various forms of media, including news and film. I also volunteer at Longview Retirement Home on Friday nights, reading and discussing short stories with residents at weekly “Literary Circles.” In the Roy H. Park School of Communications, I'm involved in both radio and television. This year, I'm the News Director for VIC Radio, where I produce a half-hour news program, “VIC News Saturday.” At ICTV, I'm a reporter for the Sunday edition of “Newswatch-16.” I'm also a big Disney fan, and I had the opportunity to meet Walt Disney Imagineering Chief Creative Executive Bruce Vaughn when he visited the Ithaca campus.
