Last week I sent an Intercom message to the campus community with the schedule of presidential candidate visits and indicating that the Presidential Search Committee would be sharing the names of the finalists in the very near future.
I had hoped that I would be able to provide the names prior to students and faculty departing this Friday for the much needed spring break. However, due to scheduling considerations for the candidates, the first announcement will not be able to be made until next week. I realize that this may not be optimal for those of you who will be traveling over the break period. However, I am doing my best to accommodate the needs of our finalists and to ensure a successful visit for each candidate.

As the new academic semester gets underway, I wanted to provide an update on the work of the Presidential Search Committee. The committee has been hard at work over the semester break reviewing materials submitted by potential candidates. I am very pleased to report that we have a very high-quality and experienced candidate pool. It is clear that Ithaca College is highly regarded in the world of higher education.

Before the winter break I wanted to provide a very quick update on the work of the Presidential Search Committee. The committee met last week to prepare for the review of applicant materials. As you know, the ad for the position indicated that screening of applicants would begin following December 15 and continue until the position is filled. If you are still interested in submitting a nomination(s), you may still do so by sending the nominees directly to Jean Dowdall and Lucy Leske at the following email address: [mailto:ithaca@wittkieffer.com].

First, let my extend my deep appreciation to all members of the campus community who participated in the meetings with our search consultants and trustees Sue Scanlon, David Stewart, Larry Alleva, and me at the beginning of October. The input of the campus community both at these meetings and through follow-up e-mails has been invaluable to our consultants in preparing the position specification document.
