What is a ZAP!

A ZAP! is an educational panel discussion that centers around individuals representing a range of sexual and gender identities and expressions - including those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and straight.

Each panelist shares a personal story as an introduction. Then people in the audience are invited to ask questions and start a dialogue with the panel members.

The goal of a ZAP! panel is to educate and show the diversity of experiences of LGBT and allied individuals. Putting names, faces, and stories to the labels used in everyday life adds a layer of human understanding and leads to increased tolerance, acceptance, and respect for the IC campus community and beyond.

Want to schedule a ZAP!?

ZAP!s are appropriate for many settings, and are often requested by professors and RAs to supplement curriculum or help build community.

prism charges a fee of $40 for each ZAP! that it conducts. All of the fee proceeds go towards other programming that prism conducts in order to make Ithaca College a safe campus for LGBTQQIA people.
