ASPIRA Association Inc. Internship
The ASPIRA Association is the only nonprofit organization devoted to serving Puerto Rican and other Latino youth through leadership development and education. The National Office, located in Washington, D.C., seeks undergraduate and graduate students for paid summer internships.
Award
Interns are available in the following areas: public service; public policy and international affairs; technology initiatives; and monitoring and evaluation of financial programs. Intern responsibilities include: conducting research for public policy briefs, tracking federal legislation, collecting and synthesizing accomplishment data collected from local operating sites, and assisting in researching and developing new training materials and publications for programs. Interns will work full time for ten weeks and receive $300/week.
Eligibility
Qualified applicants will possess:
- Knowledge of and/or interest in youth education, leadership, and community service issues
- Knowledge of the important issues affecting the Latino community living in the United States
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are preferred
