Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the largest Hispanic scholarship-granting organization in the nation. Founded in 1975, HSF has awarded more than 34,000 scholarships totaling nearly $35 million.
Award
The average award amount is $1,000 – $2,500. Successful candidates are chosen on the basis of academic achievement, personal strengths, leadership, and financial need. HSF scholars have achieved success in many fields and often are visible role models in their communities.
Eligibility
Applicant must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of Hispanic background
- Be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico on a full time basis in the upcoming
- academic year
- Have completed at least twelve undergraduate college credits with a minimum GPA of 2.7

Download an application from the Web Site or send a stamped, long-business envelope (9”x4”) self-addressed to after August to the above address.
Deadline
Many of the scholarship deadlines are on February 18, 2009; however, different dates apply for the different scholarships. See the web site for details.
