Our Vision

Through its commitment to continuous quality improvement, the Office of the Provost will model collaborative leadership and inspire a culture of evidence and assessment for the Division of Academic Affairs.

What is a Provost?

Provost is the chief academic officer for the instituition, responsible to the institution's President and the Board of Trustees for oversight of all educational affairs and activities, including research and academic personnel. The deans of the various schools and academic divisions report to the Provost, as does the Library. The Provost delegates line responsibility for certain administrative functions to the Associate Provost and to the Assistant Provost.

The Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs is the College's chief academic officer and provides administrative oversight to the five schools of the College: the School of Business, the Roy H. Park School of Communications, the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, the School of Humanities and Sciences, and the School of Music, as well as the Division of Interdisciplinary and International Studies, the Division of Graduate and Professional Studies, and various academic programs and support services, including the Office of Enrollment Management and the College Library

Committed to fostering intellectual growth, aesthetic appreciation, and character development, the Office of the Provost develops and implements academic priorities, policy, and programs in collaboration with all members of the Ithaca College community.

We promote faculty research and creative activity, diversity in our academic curriculum, and faculty/student collaboration, creating the academic and cultural framework necessary for our students to experience a lifetime of learning, citizenship, and service in the global community.
